Privacy policy
This policy explains how Measured Rest ("we") handles personal information. We aim to follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
TODO (legal review): confirm whether the operating entity is covered by the Privacy Act (small-business exemption), name the entity, and have this policy reviewed before launch.
What we collect
- Quiz answers (region, sleep position, shoulder width, mattress feel, preferred feel, whether you sleep hot, and whether you tick the neck/shoulder discomfort or allergy boxes) are processed in your browser only. They are not sent to us or stored on our servers.
- Email address: only if you choose to give it (for example, for a trial check-in reminder, when that feature launches). We use it only for the purpose you gave it for, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Analytics: TBD. If we add analytics, we intend to use a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool that records aggregate page views, not your identity. This section will be updated before launch.
- Retailer links: when you click through to a retailer, that retailer and any affiliate network (for example Amazon or Commission Factory) may set cookies and collect information under their own privacy policies.
TODO (legal review): finalise analytics provider, cookie statement and email provider; list any overseas recipients (APP 8).
Sensitive information
The neck/shoulder discomfort tick-box is used only in your browser to adjust the suggestion. We do not collect or store health information.
Use and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We use an email address only to send what you asked for, and we share it only with the email service provider that delivers it.
Security and retention
We keep any email address only while you are subscribed and delete it when you unsubscribe or ask us to.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access or correct your information, or make a complaint, through our contact page. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
TODO (legal review): confirm the complaint-handling process and response times.
